A collection of orchid, magenta, and iced coffee pillows on a couch. Boy, this picture is tiny. See a bigger version at my pinterest link.

Fabric in Real Life Fern Tangle on Olive

Fabric in Real Life Fern Tangle on Olive

This fern tangle pattern, on a white background, is part of the Green Fern Pillows collection. Here it was printed on an olive green background. I like it! Printed by spoonflower.com on linen-cotton. It came out as I expected. The fabric actually looks more saturated to my eye than this picture would indicate--more yellow-green and brighter. In the photo, natural daylight to the top, incandescent overhead to the bottom. #alohashirt #IndianRiverTextiles

Fabric in Real Life Green Fern Array

This is the fabric for the Fern Array design in the Green Fern Pillows collection. I like it! Printed by spoonflower.com on linen-cotton. It came out as I expected. The white is crisp, and the greens are more yellow than in this photo. #alohashirt #IndianRiverTextiles

Fabric in Real Life Indigo Batik Lauae

Another fabric sample; this one from the Indigo Batik collection. I like it! Printed by spoonflower.com on linen-cotton. It came out as I expected. The whites are nice and crisp. In general, the fabric actually looks more saturated to my eye than this picture would indicate. #alohashirt #IndianRiverTextiles

Fabric in Real Life Turquoise Batik Lauae

Nothing like seeing your design come to life.

Designed by Karen Dyson for Indian River Textiles. Printed by spoonflower.com on linen-cotton. It came out as I expected. The turquoise is nice and bright, whites are crisp, and the background dark. In general, the fabric actually looks more saturated to my eye than this picture would indicate. Natural daylight to the top, incandescent overhead to the bottom. #alohashirt #IndianRiverTextiles

Soon, I will post a photo of a tote bag with this design from pixels.com. It looks great, but it's too cloudy right now to take the photo.

Love for Spanish Moss, Tillandsia Usneoides

Love for Spanish Moss, Tillandsia Usneoides

I love Spanish moss. I love the pale gray-green color, and the way the beards of moss are swaying in the breeze as I write this. One day, I am going to pick up a bunch of moss that fell to the ground and take it to the paint store to see if they can match that color!

Did you know it has tiny green flowers? So cute.

An art print made from Spanish moss growing in my front yard was the inspiration for one of the Indigo Batik designs with camellias. Probably could not paint such delicate lines. Like an ink blot, I see graceful dancers in this print.
